Midrange Prone Hight Power and F-Class Rifle Match
Entry: Open to all knowledgeable and safe competitors.
When? Sundays, April 11, May 2, June 13, July 11, July 25, August 15, September 19, October 10, October 24.
What? Midrange Prone and F-Class Match
Where? Sign-up online. Walk-ins welcome. Setup and safety briefing from 0730 to 0815 in the range 7 pits, Firing at 0830 on the 600 yard range.
Fee: $35 for RCLRC members, $40 for non-members.
Rules: Current NRA Hight Power Rifle rules will govern. Use of ECI (empty chamber indicator device, available at the match? is mandatory. Use of eye and hearing protection on the firing line is mandatory.
1. Service Rifle
US Rifle, Caliber .30 M1, or Caliber 7.62mm M1
US Rifle, Caliber 7.62mm M14
US Rifle, Caliber 5.56mm M16 Series
US Rifle, Caliber 7.62mm M110 Series
Rifles must have standard or National Match type sights or in the case of the AR-15 it may have an optical sight of no greater than 4.5x. It must have a trigger pound equal to or greater than 4.5 pounds. There are also other rifle specific requirements for each of the above. Please check NRA Rule 3.1
Starting in 2016 AR-15 Service rifles were allowed to have a scope with a maximum magnification of 4.5x. In 2018 this was opened up to all service rifles.
2. Any Rifle
A centerfire rifle with no restrictions on sights or accessories, accept no muzzle brakes or silencers. Rifles must be .35 caliber or less. Metallic or optical sights will be used depending on the match bulletin. NRA rule 3.2
3. Palma Rifle
A rifle chambered for the unmodified .308/7.62mm, or .223/5.56mm NATO cartridges with metallic sights. NRA rule 3.3.1
4. F-Open Rifle
A centerfire rifle with a caliber limit of .35 and under. A weight limit of 221bs, or less. A stock forearm of 3 inches or less. The shooter is allowed to use an adjustable front rest and rear bag. Optical or Metallic sights are permitted. NRA Rule 3.4a and 3.4.1a
A rifle chambered for the unmodified .308/7.62mm, or .223/5.56mm NATO cartridges with a weight limit of 18.18lbs. The shooter is allowed to use a sling and/or bipod along with a rear bag. Optical or Metallic sights are permitted. NRA Rule 3.4b and 3.4.1b
6. Mid Range prone Tactical (AR)
This is a new division separate from sling and F-class. The rifles must* be of an AR style rifle with a barrel no longer than 20" The rifle scope must have a magnification of no more than 15x. It must be shot from a Harris style bi-pod. A rear bag may be used but it must not have any ears. NRA Rule 3.3.3
*We will allow M14 style rifles to shoot in this class so long as all other criteria are met.
The targets used are the MR-63 at 300 yards, MR-65 at 500 yards, and MR-1 at 600 yards. For F-Class the following targets are used. MR-63FC at 300 yards, MR-65FC at 500 yards, MR-1FC at 600 yards.
Course of fire:
20 rounds + unlimited sighters at 300 yards Iron/Any Sight in 25 minutes 20 rounds +2 convertible sighters at 500 yards Iron/Any Sight in 22 minutes 20 rounds +2 convertible sighters at 600 yards Iron/Any Sight in 22 minutes
Rifle capable of shooting the required distances (see below) Enough ammunition to complete course of fire Rests if shooting F class Spotting scope Eye and hearing protection

Will my rifle work for mid-range?
The answer to this question is generally yes, however there are a couple of general guidelines.
- Do not shoot Varmit or hunting bullets use only match bullets.
- If shooting M16/AR-15 do not use M193 or M855 ammo.
- If using a scope make sure your scope has enough elevation for 600 yards. Depending on load and cartridge this could take as much as 15 MOA.
Classification: All matches to be run as NRA approved matches. Scores will count toward NRA classification.

Directions to RCLRC Range: From I-94 exit at 7-mile road and go East approximately 5 miles to WI hwy 32 and turn right (South), proceed 1 mile to 6-Mile Road. Turn left on 6-Mile Road and go east for about 1/4 mile and then turn left (North) onto Michna Road. Proceed on Michna Rd. for 1 mile (do not enter the Rohner/FBI range), then turn left onto 7 Mile Road. Proceed on 7 Mile Road for about 14 mile and turn right (North) onto the gravel road adjacent to the RR tracks. Watch for the range signs and follow the road onto the club property and adhere to the instructions from the RCLRC gate guard.
